The material in this preventative education programme is based on the real-life experiences of children and young people who have been supported by a specialist Barnardo's service.   Developed from successful and well-received group work delivered in PRUs, residential units and schools, Bwise2 Sexual Exploitation uses creative activities, quizzes and case studies to help young people:

• understand sexual exploitation as abuse
• recognise grooming techniques
• see how abusive adults exert power and control
• identify and manage exposure to risk
• negotiate equal and consensual relationships
• seek help and understand the law.

The pack is designed for use by residential social workers, teachers, school counsellors and other professionals with experience of delivering sex and relationship education to young people. With full colour illustrations throughout, the pack gives you everything you need to feel fully resourced and confident in running these essential sessions. The pack includes a CD-ROM of the session resources for printing or projecting. The six sessions are relevant to the English PSHE curriculum at key stages 3 and 4.
