What does gender have to do with violence against women?

Friday, 12th February, 2010

The Scottish Governement has published a new paper to assist practitioners, particularly those working to the training consortia and multi agency partnership guidance, in making the argument for gendered analysis.

The Scottish Government describes violence against women as:

  • Caused by the fact that men and women are not equal, and in turn
  • Causing inequality between women and men

This is often referred to as the "gendered analysis".

The Prevention Network supports this analysis.
