The Scottish Government’s domestic abuse advertising campaign was launched on 26 December and will run through January. The campaign features the 'I soar' TV advert which was released last year and is aimed at encouraging women to phone the Domestic Abuse Helpline. 'I soar' is also running as 'pre rolls' before selected programmes viewed on the internet.
In support of that, the other visual media focus on remembering a time when things were different ie when you weren't being abused. Two posters are on display in changing rooms in Dorothy Perkins and TK Maxx. We will be giving a message directly to women, in a women only environment, where they can safely note the Helpline number.
A large, 48 sheet poster is being displayed on over 100 outdoor sites around Scotland. The message is about remembering a time before the abuse and that by contacting the Helpline, you can take the first step to getting back there. The campaign is also supported by a series of radio adverts.
