September 1st saw the launch of the Scottish Gender–Based Violence Research Network, which links researchers doing gender-based violence work, and connects them to practitioners through the VAW Prevention Network.
The launch event was attended by over fifty researchers and practitioners from all over Scotland, and there was a real buzz about the opportunities the network provides for practitioners and researchers to benefit from, and inform, each others' work.
Talk went on throughout the day about the potential of the network and lots of ideas came up for discussion, including training, seminars, group research projects, and practitioner input into research. The VAW Prevention Network team will be looking at all these ideas and using them to develop the network’s huge potential to strengthen prevention work in Scotland.
You can find profiles of current Research Network members, and information about joining, here.
