Small Pieces of a Bigger Picture Exhibition

From 25th November – 4th December Safe Space have been exhibiting a collection of postcard images submitted from survivors, their friends and families, agencies and individuals throughout Scotland. The exhibition, held at Augustine Church, George 1V Bridge, Edinburgh has been well attended and commented on for its overall powerful impact.

Packs of blank postcards were distributed to individuals and agencies to be decorated with paintings, poems, quotes or even a single word or name. There are many images of anger, rage and sadness relating to individual experience but also positive images of healing, strength and resilience. Displayed together in groups of large frames the cards convey the message that every small contribution adds a stronger voice against sexual abuse.

Although the exhibition ends in Edinburgh on Dec 4th we have every intention of having it displayed as widely as possible and would be grateful to hear of any venue that would show the work or of any conference or event that could accommodate the exhibition. A selection of the images can be seen on Safe Space website www.safe-space.co.uk under News and Events section.
