Rape prevention: new Lothian and Borders postcard campaign

A new postcard campaign has been launched by Lothian & Borders Police in conjunction with Rape Crisis Scotland and the Edinburgh Women’s Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre.
 
The postcard is being handed out across the Lothian & Borders area.  It is great to see a postcard going out from the police with such a clear non women blaming message.  It also has a very clear message to potential perpetrators - if there is any question a woman has drunk too much to give consent, assume she hasn’t given it.
 
Glasgow Community & Safety Services are also launching a washroom campaign with posters from our ‘this is not an invitation to rape me’ campaign.
 
Posters from the campaign will appear in washrooms in bars and clubs across Glasgow for a month from December 10th 2009.
