Prevention of Violence in Teenage Relationships Conference: Stuttgart

Monday, 26th April, 2010

Romantic and sexual relationships play a significant role during puberty and adolescence. Unfortunately this impressive time is also when many young people make their first experiences with relationship violence. There is still little research in Germany and Europe on intimate relationships in adolescence as well as on prevalence, types and impacts of violence in teenage relationships.

Therefore the European project “Heartbeat” and the announced conference break new ground in the prevention of relationship violence.

Please see the conference program attached –

The conference covers the following topics:

• Expert presentations from current research

• Keynote speeches and information from European prevention programs

• Exchange of experiences with competent practitioners and scientists The conference is geared towards representatives and workers within the areas of:

• Victim protection/working with perpetrators

• Youth Work

• Sexual health

• Education

• Child and youth protection

• Police and justice system
