PhD opportunity: How do prostitution policies develop?

This studentship at the University of hte West of Scotland will investigate the availability, selection and use of evidence in policy debates about prostitution which have been in constant debate within the UK since 2004. It is expected that research for the project will involve policy and media analysis, review of published evidence, involvement with campaign groups and opinion surveys. The student will have a social science, legal or policy background and be familiar with current debates on prostitution.

Successful candidates will receive a £6000 stipend and payment of tuition fees (current value £3400).
This studentship is open to Home/EU candidates with a first degree in a relevant discipline.
Non-EU students can apply, but will not receive the stipend and will be required to pay fees.
Candidates must be available to commence their studies in October 2010.
