The Scottish National Union of Students' Violence Against Women Officer Kelley Temple and Chairman for Equality & Diversity Chamandeep Singh have confirmed their committment to place stalking on the NUS agenda.
Action Scotland Against Stalking welcomed the move, stating that "For the first time in Scottish history stalking will be recognised as a serious crime within our universities and students will now recieve the protection and support they deserve. This innovative grass roots approach specifically targeting the student section of society will be of immense value towards creating positive influence through the whole of society in helping change public attitudes towards the crime of stalking, making it increasingly less acceptable through the years".
