New Domestic Abuse Message Pad in Angus

Monday, 11th January, 2010

The Angus Partnership on Domestic Abuse launched a new Domestic Abuse Message Pad Project on 8 December 2009.

The “Message Pad” consists of a small bank card sized tear off slip listing contact telephone numbers of support services for women who may be experiencing domestic abuse.

The message pads have an adhesive backing and are designed to be located in ladies toilet facilities or on information boards, if that is more appropriate.

Domestic abuse incidents very often go unreported and it is vital that women who may be experiencing domestic abuse are aware of the range of support services.

Following consultation with members of the Angus Partnership on Domestic Abuse and other organisations it has been agreed to distribute the “Message Pads” in the following area’s within Angus.

  • Health Centres
  • Dental Practices
  • Maternity Services
  • Minor Injury Unit Sites
  • Health Information Points
  • School Nurseries
  • Playgroups/Nurseries
  • Addiction Services (Angus CHP and Angus Council)
  • Psychological Services
  • Health Working Lives
  • Access Offices
  • Licensed Premises (Best Bar None)
