Development Manager post at the Scottish Women’s Convention

The purpose of the Scottish Women’s Convention is to communicate and consult with women in Scotland to influence public policy. Through the Convention‘s policy work, round table and celebratory events the SWC strives to have contact with women and relevant organisations. The SWC aims to provide an effective way of consulting with a diverse range of women in Scotland. The Scottish Women’s Convention has a network of over 300,000 women in Scotland.

Development Manager

21 hours per week Fixed term Contract Salary £29,300 pro rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a key role in the development of the Scottish Women’s Convention. The position is dependent on a funding review and will be on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2011 in the first instance.

The Development Manager will:

• Take on full responsibility for overseeing the work of the SWC.

• Provide leadership, manage key policy projects and a small team.

• Empower the team to broaden the scope of their responsibility and to deliver excellence.

• Ensure that all projects are delivered to a high standard, within budget and timescales.

• Engage with stakeholders and provide high quality consultancy across the spectrum of SWC activity.

Applicants must have proven ability of managing staff and resources as well as managing budgets and delivering financial reports. Applicants must also have a commitment to women’s equality and an understanding of women’s issues in Scotland.
