The Women’s Support Project and Zero Tolerance are developing a DVD resource on Commercial Sexual Exploitation. The DVD will challenge common misconceptions and myths; highlight the experiences of women working in the sex industry; and motivate people to act to challenge commercial sexual exploitation as a form of violence against women.
Steering group expressions of interest
We are seeking expressions of interest from Prevention Network members who would like to join a small short life steering group for developing the resource.
As one of the key purposes of the DVD will be use by multi-agency partnerships and training consortia in training and awareness raising, we would particularly value your input on helping us to design, develop, pilot, evaluate and disseminate the resource. We are also keen to hear from other network members with experience or a particular interest in work in this area.
We will agree the full terms of reference for the steering group at the first meeting but participation is likely to include:
- six meetings between May 2010 and March 2011 (shifting location to suit group members, first meeting in Glasgow)
- email communication and feedback on drafts
Please send an email to michelle.lowe@zerotolerance.org.uk by Monday April 12th if you are interested in joining us in working on this project. Our first meeting will be in May.
Funding
As you’ll see from the outline attached, we have secured £8,000 of funding for this resource, but need additional funds. If your organisation would be able to contribute even a small amount to this project please let us know.
