Inverclyde Community Learning & Development

Role/remit

  • To build relationships with young people aged 12-24 years.
  • To give information on a range of issues that affect young people and signpost to other relevant agencies.
  • To ensure the opinions of young people are listened on issues that affect them.
  • To develop initiatives and programmes that help to increase confidence, self-worth and empower young people.

Services for:

All young people aged between 12 – 24 years from across the Inverclyde area in both formal and informal settings.

Prevention work: secondary

Develops prevention programmes on a range of health issues and issues of violence against women aimed at both gender groups in formal and informal settings.

Other prevention work in area:

Some programmes are delivered in partnership with Women’s Aid children and young person outreach worker.  The Domestic Abuse Co-ordinator works in partnership with a Women’s Aid outreach worker delivering prevention programmes to adults and professionals across Inverclyde.

Evaluation of prevention work

Evaluations for all the school programmes and individual group programmes, i.e. ‘girl power’ group.  Intends to conduct a more detailed evaluation on the project as a whole.
