Community Planning Partnership

Services for

The Community Planning Partnership is a strategic body between the statutory sector organisations in Highland, focusing on a number of issues, including violence against women.  We are doing this in partnership with the voluntary sector.  The partnership has agreed a violence against women strategy for 2008-11 and is working towards fulfilling the agreed targets within this document.

Prevention work: primary, secondary and tertiary

Number of issues including the following strategy targets:

• Roll out of prevention education in schools and in informal education settings (including nursery, primary and secondary education)
• Training staff to respond to violence against women
• Equalities officer for violence against women working with equalities
• Development and evaluation of awareness raising materials
• Specific work with media teams and publishers, newsagents and Licensing Board in Highland on violence against women
• Secondary and tertiary prevention work, including tackling perpetrators of violence against women and providing services for those who have experienced gender-based violence
