Rape Crisis Scotland

Role/remit

To provide a national helpline to offer support and information to anyone affected by sexual violence.
To develop and sustain a solid infrastructure for the rape crisis movement in Scotland.
To work to ensure a consistent and high quality service is offered by member groups throughout Scotland.
To work to address prejudicial attitudes towards female survivors of sexual violence, at an agency, societal and institutional level.

Services for

Anyone affected by sexual violence

Prevention work

Does campaigning work, such as the “This Is Not An Invitation To Rape Me” campaign which ran across Scotland in 2008.
Produces a wide range of leaflets and other information resources covering various aspects of rape and sexual assault.

Other prevention work in area

RCS has a national remit and there are a range of preventative initiatives going on in different locations across the country, ranging from White Ribbon Scotland to the Rosey initiative run in schools by Glasgow Rape Crisis.

Evaluation of prevention work

The TINAITRM campaign has been evaluated and the evaluation report should be published shortly.
