Role/remit

Multi-agency partnership dedicated to preventing domestic abuse and coordinating services from voluntary and statutory agencies to ensure support is provided to the families involved.

Prevention work: primary

Works in partnership with the Tayside Domestic Abuse and Violence against Women Training Consortium to deliver a range of training courses. The training provided includes awareness level and more specialist aspects on the issue of domestic abuse. Supports the White Ribbon campaign and every year organises local events to raise awareness. Local publicity action designed to raise awareness of the issue and to highlight the availability of local support services.

Other prevention work in area

Several partners are involved in prevention work, including Tayside Police, Angus Women’s Aid, Victim Support and Barnardo’s.  Angus Schools Project – working group established to examine options to include domestic abuse in the school curriculum.  Midwives in Tayside carry out routine screening of all expectant mothers.

All training evaluated.
